  • Older travelers

Kind very professional staff at all levels

  • Group of friends

Second time i have stayed at the Ascot, and both times have been more than pleasant. Although in need of some modernisation within the communal areas, the rooms are excellent - clean, modern & spacious. Flat screen TV's had variable satalite choices including the one in my bathroom (room 211:) The staff were very friendly & accommodating, and at all times made you feel welcomed. For the money spent, it was excellent value. Upon my third visit to the island, i will only try to stay at the Ascot.

No private parking and although stayed during quiet periods, i easily managed to park outside - not sure this would be so available during peak periods. Didn't eat there due to work & travel arrangements, but the Bar menu did look a little basic in choice.

  • Group of friends

The staff made us feel most welcome - they were always cheerful and extremely helpful

  • Older travelers

Good breakfast , nice staff, nice bar.

You will need ear defenders if you use the spa bath ! no car park, you have to park on the street

  • Older travelers

very friendly, comfortable, nothing too much trouble

  • Older travelers

Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff and, as we had booked for 7 days, we were given a free upgrade with a sea view. Centrally situated, easy walk into Douglas Centre. Broad breakfast choices.

  • Older travelers

the warmth and excellence of all the staff

  • Older travelers

Everybody so friendly at receiption bar and restaurant .they all made me so special.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They obviously get a lot of return business, since several guests were addressed by christian names. The food was adequate, if not spectacular, but I did only eat in the bar. Parking is a problem, but that's the case in Douglas generally. Although the hotel has a lift, there were 2 short flights of stairs to negotiate; a small hindrance to those with mobility problems.

Isle if man tt, quality of service

The staff were helpful and I was allowed to move in early. It would have been nice to have been offered a packed breakfast as I had to leave before breakfast

Hotel is looking very tired and dated. My room Ayr could definitely do with a makeover, and paint. I think they were decorating the stairwell at the time of my visit. I would not consider this an Executive standard room. to view the TV the spare put up bed (used as a couch) had to be moved. You could not see the TV from the bed.

The staff were fantastic but the decor a little tired (they are redocorating though). The breakfasts were lovely.

  • Single

Good price and location and friendly staff

First floor their was a street light outside my window but no black out blinds, UPVC window did not fit and let wind through and made room cold, bed springs uncomforable.

  • Single

Plastic sheets on matresses are a thing of the past.Room cold at night. Breakfast tasteless

  • Single

Clean and tidy, with well equiped room.

No resturant open in the evening, had to use bar area which was cramped. Not aware of this prior to booking!
